HealthGuard, a product of NewsGuard, uses journalists to rate and review the credibility of the hundreds of news and information websites people rely on for health information. Each site is rated using nine basic, apolitical journalistic criteria, resulting in an overall Red or Green rating. NewsGuard's co-CEOs, Steven Brill and Gordon Crovitz, are veteran journalists and news entrepreneurs. Brill founded The American Lawyer, Court TV, and the Yale Journalism Initiative. Crovitz was publisher of the Wall Street Journal and a columnist for the paper. Together, they have supervised thousands of journalists around the world. They were co-CEOs and co-founders of Press+, which was sold to RR Donnelley.
