Exposure to the Sun causes the Eiffel Tower to expand one side at a time. As each side expands, it creates an imbalance with the other three sides, causing the tower to bend. As the Sun moves, another side of the tower expands. Over the course of a clear day, the Eiffel Tower will move in a six-inch-diameter curve.
