Hürth, city, North Rhine–Westphalia Land (state), northwestern Germany, southwest of Cologne. The district was frequented by the Romans, and the name appeared in Frankish times. Its history was linked with that of Cologne.

Hürth supports heavy industry, focusing on mining, energy, and the manufacture of chemicals, vehicles, and general machinery. The city is also a retail centre for neighbouring recreational areas, such as the Kottenforst-Ville nature park. Pop. (2003 est.) 54,568.
