Kalulushi
Kalulushi, town, north-central Zambia, south-central Africa. Kalulushi is located near the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa) and is about 175 miles (280 km) north of Lusaka, with which it is connected by road.
Main roads connect it with other mining centres such as Kitwe, Luanshya, and Chingola. Copper was discovered in the early 1920s, and the resulting development of mining-related industries brought an influx of rural migrants. Other minerals mined include cobalt and selenium. Industries producing food and beverages, wood and wood products, plastics, fabricated metal products, and chemicals are also located in Kalulushi. Pop.
