Koudougou, town, central Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta), western Africa. It lies on the railway between Ouagadougou and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, which gives landlocked Burkina Faso access to the coast. There is some peanut (groundnut), tobacco, and cotton production in the area, and the town has a large textile mill. Pop. (2006) 88,184; (2019) 160,239.
