Lucea, town and Caribbean port, far northwestern Jamaica, northwest of Kingston. The harbour is well sheltered. Bananas and yams are exported, and there are phosphate deposits nearby. Noteworthy sites are Fort Charlotte (18th century), overlooking the harbour; the Hanover Parish Church (1725), which lost its spire to a hurricane in 1957; and a Jewish cemetery. Pop.
