Chhatak, town, northeastern Bangladesh. It lies on the left bank of the Surma River.
The town rose to prominence when a natural gas field was discovered nearby in 1959. Chhatak has a large cement factory powered by natural gas. The town also exports natural gas as well as citrus fruits, cement, limestone, and pulp and paper products. Pop. (2001) 34,172; (2011) 44,364.
