Charles Sackville, 6th earl of Dorset
Charles Sackville, 6th earl of Dorset (born 1643—died 1706) was a typical courtier of the reign of British king Charles II, a munificent patron to many men of letters, and a friend of John Dryden. Dorset was himself a poet whose satires in heroic couplets anticipated and influenced the style of Alexander Pope.
