Cape Chelyuskin, cape in north-central Siberia, the northernmost point of the Taymyr Peninsula in Russia and of the entire Eurasian landmass. The area around the cape is composed of ancient Precambrian materials, and a series of marine terraces demonstrates that the region is rising relative to the sea. Vilkitsky Strait, separating the cape from Severnaya Zemlya to the north, is open to shipping for only two to three months a year.
