Lazarillo de Tormes

Lazarillo de Tormes, fictional character, the shrewd and ironic protagonist of La vida de Lazarillo de Tormes y de sus furtunas y adversidades (1554; The Life of Lazarillo of Tormes and other translations), by an unknown author. The work is considered the original picaresque novel.
