list of Internet domains

list of Internet domains, This is a list of the most popular top-level domains (TLDs) in order of popularity.

The first TLD was .arpa, for sites connected to the ARPANET computer network. With the tremendous growth in Internet sites in the 1980s, .arpa was replaced by five TLDs: .gov for government sites, .edu for educational institutions, .com for companies, .mil for the U.S. military, and .org for other organizations. Since then, the number of TLDs has grown to about 1,500, ranging from .aaa, for the American Automobile Association, to .zw for Zimbabwe. This list contains the 20 most popular TLDs as of 2023, showing the percentage of their share of websites as determined by the Internet survey company W3Techs and what the domain designates.
