Güira de Melena, city, west-central Cuba. It lies about 20 miles (32 km) south-southwest of Havana.
The city is situated in a fertile agricultural and livestock-raising region known primarily for tobacco, although potatoes and bananas, pineapples, and other tropical fruits are also cultivated. The dairy industry is well developed, and the city contains cigar factories. Pop. (2002) 24,896; (2011 est.) 26,700.
