Knightsbridge
Knightsbridge, neighbourhood in the London boroughs of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. Located south of Hyde Park and northwest of Belgravia, in London’s West End, it is the site of stately houses and clubs and of the famous department store Harrods, Ltd. It was a village in the Middle Ages and was recorded as Cnihtebricge (“Bridge of the Young Men”) in the mid-11th century. From the 17th century the area was known for its taverns, including the Swan, the World’s End, and the Fox and Bull.
