Ljusnan River
Ljusnan River, river in central Sweden. After rising in the Norwegian border mountains it flows for 270 miles (430 km) in a generally southeasterly direction through the provinces of Härjedalen and Hälsingland past the towns of Sveg, Ljusdal, and Bollnäs to the Gulf of Bothnia at Ljusne. It has a drainage area of 7,667 square miles (19,860 square km). It is a source of hydroelectric power and is known for its salmon.
