The Mother of Us All
The Mother of Us All, opera in two acts with libretto by American writer Gertrude Stein and music by American composer Virgil Thomson, first performed and published in 1947. The opera concerns the woman suffrage movement of 19th-century America, as exemplified in the life and work of American suffragist and feminist Susan B. Anthony.
