Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, one of the world’s foremost horse races, originated in 1920, and run over a 2,400-metre (about 1 1/2-mile) course at Longchamp, Paris. The race is an international event for horses at least three years old and attracts entries from several nations of Europe and other parts of the world. It is usually run in October.
