Pryluky
Pryluky, city, northern Ukraine, on the Uday River. It is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine, being first documented in 1092. It was destroyed by the Mongols in the 13th century. In modern times it became a centre of the oil industry based on local deposits (those of the Dnieper-Donets depression), with engineering, textiles, clothing, and food industries as well. Teacher-training and medical schools are located in the city. Pop. (2001) 64,861; (2005 est.) 62,044.
