Solikamsk, city, Perm oblast (region), northwestern Russia. The city lies along the Usolka River, just above the latter’s confluence with the Kama. Founded in the early 15th century, it has always been a major salt- and potassium-mining centre. It has a varied chemical industry, including one of Russia’s largest magnesium works. The city is also one of Russia’s largest newsprint producers. Pop. (2006 est.) 99,318.
