Bijagós Islands, islands of Guinea-Bissau, located about 30 miles (48 km) off the Guinea coast of western Africa. They compose an archipelago of 15 main islands, among which are Caravela, Carache, Formosa, Uno, Orango, Orangozinho, Bubaque, and Roxa. They are covered with a lush vegetation and have sandy beaches, and their principal cash crops are palm products.
