Bognor Regis
Bognor Regis, parish, Arun district, administrative county of West Sussex, historic county of Sussex, southern England. It is situated on the English Channel, south-southwest of London.
The name Regis, meaning “King’s,” commemorates George V’s convalescence there in 1929. The resort, which has sandy beaches, dates from the late 18th-century Regency period, when Hotham House and Dome House (now a teacher-training college) were built, although a small fishing community had existed on the site since medieval times. Pop. (2001) 22,555; (2011) 24,064.
