Clearfield, city, Davis county, northern Utah, U.S., at an altitude of 4,487 feet (1,368 metres). Founded in 1877 as a farming centre, it is mainly a residential community and suburb of Ogden and Salt Lake City, with some industrialization. The Clearfield Naval Supply Depot just outside the city has been developed as Freeport Center, a large commercial complex specializing in storage, packaging, fabrication, and transportation.
