Bruniaceae
Bruniaceae, family of shrubby evergreen plants, comprising 12 genera native to southern Africa, many resembling heather in habit. Members of the family, which is unplaced in the Asterids II clade, have clusters of thin branches and small leaves. Brunia stokoei develops hairy red and white flowers and grows to 1 to 5 m (3 to 16 feet) in height. Species of the genera Brunia and Berzelia are cultivated as ornamentals.
