The breeding range of the common yellowthroat is among the largest of any North American warbler. It extends from southern Alaska east across the breadth of Canada to Labrador and Newfoundland, and south throughout all of the contiguous United States to Mexico. Many birds also overwinter in the southern U.S., Mexico, and the West Indies.
