In 2008 Lil Wayne’s album Tha Carter III sold more than a million copies in its initial week of release in the United States. It contained the singles “A Milli” and “Lollipop.” By the end of the year, the album had sold more than 2.8 million copies, making it the country’s best-selling album of the year.
