Lopez starred in such notable films as Selena (1997), about the murdered Tejana singer; Anaconda (1997); Out of Sight (1998); and The Wedding Planner (2001), the first in a string of romantic comedies. Her later movies include The Boy Next Door (2015) and Hustlers (2019). Lopez also became a pop star, releasing numerous successful albums, including On the 6 (1999), J.Lo (2001), Rebirth (2005), and Love? (2011).
