In 2022 Jesse Eisenberg wrote and directed his first feature film, When You Finish Saving the World. The comedy centers on the strained relationship between a mother (Julianne Moore) and son (Finn Wolfhard). Two years later Eisenberg wrote, directed, and starred in A Real Pain (2024). In the movie, two Jewish cousins honor their recently deceased grandmother by traveling to Poland, where they tour Holocaust sites and visit her childhood home.
