American Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn won four women’s World Cup overall championships (2008–10 and 2012). In 2019 she became the first woman to win 82 World Cup races. At the time she announced her retirement, in 2019, she had also won three Olympic Winter Games medals and eight world championships medals. She said in November 2024 that she was returning to skiing as part of the U.S. national team.
