Zaha Hadid was born to an upper-middle-class family. Her father, Mohammed, was a politician, and her mother, Wajiha Sabunji, practiced art. Zaha had two elder brothers, Haytham and Foulath, the latter a noted academic. Zaha never married or had children, but she had several nephews and nieces, including Rana, an architect.
