The harpy eagle lives in lowland tropical forests in the Americas. Most of the harpy eagle population can be found in the Amazon Basin in South America; however, the species can also be found in pockets of habitat throughout Central America and northern South America south to Colombia’s Pacific coast to northwestern Venezuela.
