Quincy Jones, who died on November 3, 2024, was an American musical performer, producer, arranger, and composer whose work encompassed virtually all forms of popular music. He began his musical career at a young age working in numerous bands as a trumpeter and arranger. In the decades after he was named a record-label executive, he became one of the most famous producers in the world. Jones was also one of a handful of EGOT winners.
