Welcome to Generation Z, the “iGeneration,” made up of those born between 1997 and 2012; it was preceded by Generation X (meaning those born between 1965 and 1980) and Generation Y (those born between 1981 and 1996). These digital natives grew up during the Great Recession of 2007–09, and the oldest of them were entering young adulthood and the workforce just as the COVID-19 pandemic began.
