Watch the launch and booster separation of Gemini spacecraft as it is lifted off the ground by a Titan II rocket
This video shows the liftoff of a Gemini spacecraft atop a two-stage Titan II launch vehicle, followed by separation of the rocket stages and a view of a Gemini spacecraft in orbit. Twelve Gemini missions conducted in the mid-1960s provided NASA engineers and astronauts with information about spacecraft maneuvering, rendezvous, and docking and about the long-duration performance of humans in space, in preparation for the Apollo voyages to the Moon.
