Morón, city, east-central Cuba. It is situated in the swampy coastal plain just south of the Leche Lagoon, about 20 miles (32 km) north-northeast of Ciego de Ávila.

Morón is an important regional transportation and manufacturing centre. From the hinterland come sugarcane, tobacco, cacao, coffee, fruit, cattle, and timber to be processed in the city. Asphalt and chromite are found in the vicinity. It is linked by railroad and highway to other urban centres along the north coast and has an airfield. Pop. (2002) 53,551; (2011 est.) 58,475.
