Puracé National Park, national park, southwestern Colombia. Established in 1961, its main feature is the active Puracé Volcano, which is located just southeast of the city of Popayán and reaches an elevation of 15,603 feet (4,756 metres). The park covers 320 square miles (830 square km) and is home to the spectacled bear and the pudu, a small deer that is about 12 inches (300 mm) tall.
