Pancks, fictional character in the novel Little Dorrit (1855–57) by Charles Dickens. Pancks is a clerk who reluctantly collects exorbitant rents for the hypocritical landlord Casby. Because he makes Pancks do his dirty work, Casby by contrast appears to be generous, though he is ultimately unmasked.
