Mont Sainte-Anne is geologically part of the Laurentian Mountains—themselves forming part of the Canadian Shield, one of the oldest mountain regions in the world. The summit of the mountain is flattened and reaches an elevation of 2,675 feet (815 m). Noted for its skiing facilities, Mont Sainte-Anne has been the site of World Cup ski events since 1971.
