Die Burger, daily newspaper published in Cape Town, South Africa, the largest of the country’s newspapers written in Afrikaans. Die Burger is known both for its generally balanced presentation of the news and for its support of policies of the South African government. It firmly supported the ruling National Party. It is published mornings except Sundays.
